Martin Damphousse is an active member of the community. He was elected as municipal counsellor of the City of Varennes in 2007 and has been Mayor, with his eight team members since 2009. His party made the commitment to place environmental, family and responsible management at the heart of their priorities. He is also committed to sharing his experience with other Cities and initiate practices that encourage sustainable development.
Mayor Damphousse is Chairman of the Carrefour action municipal et famille (CAMF) and the Société d’économie mixte de l’est de la couronne sud (SEMECS). He is an executif Board member of Montreal Metropolitan Community (CMM), Board member of the Union des municipalités du Québec (UMQ) and of the Autorité régionale de transport du Québec (ARTM).
His goal is to make the City of Varennes stand out when it comes to durable development by doing things differently to promote the quality of life of the citizens and for all the generations to come.
