Julie Himo is a partner of Norton Rose Fulbright Canada, who regularly advises clients on privacy matters arising from the collection, use and disclosure of personal data, security breaches, cross-border discovery and investigations, cross-border data flow requirements, behavioural advertising as well as compliance with Canada’s anti-spam legislation, including for on-line publishers (for lenders).
She counsels clients on “privacy by design” for new products and marketing initiatives, including supporting consumer engagement activities such as marketing and advertising, for on cloud-based solutions and use of data analytics. She is involved with data protection, privacy and cybersecurity audits, compliance risk assessment and helps clients develop security and privacy policies and procedures.
Her clients include businesses in a variety of industries, including education, technology, health and financial institutions. She also served as Montréal litigation chair from 2013 to 2016.
