Ivano Labricciosa, President & CEO, Oshawa Power


Ivano Labricciosa is the President & CEO of Oshawa Power & Utilities Corporation (Oshawa Power). His Utility experience spans 35 years within the traditional utility functions of engineering design, operations, construction, and maintenance. Ivano has leveraged his leadership skills and his change management experiences to effect sustained business performance improvements throughout the utility organization.

As CEO of Oshawa Power, Ivano is directly accountable for the financial, and operating results of the organization on behalf of the City of Oshawa, the sole shareholder. In addition, he plays a pivotal role in the overall strategic planning of the company and its subsidiaries involved in energy distribution, energy generation, and telecom ventures. His involvement in the on-going support of Smart Grid, and its deployment in the next generation grid is well documented; whether it is the planning and implementation of one of the largest smart meter deployments, or the on-going integration and operation of one of the largest Micro Grids.

A University of Western Ontario Electrical Engineering Graduate, Ivano also holds a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, as well as a Queen’s University Master’s Degree in Business Administration.

Ivano has served as a Board member with the Electricity Distributors Association, the Canadian Solar Industry Association and the Municipal Electric Association Reciprocal Insurance Exchange. He has also served as an Advisory Board member with the University of Toronto Engineering Faculty, Ryerson University Centre for Urban Energy, Canadian Electric Association Distribution Council, the Georgian College Engineering Technology Program. He is currently active with the Distribution Council of the Canadian Electricity Association and is also a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Within the community, Ivano volunteers his time serving on the Board of Parkwood Estates National Historic Site, and the Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce. He actively participates in events at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology and Durham College, attending events and speaking or judging events when called upon.
