Fabienne Joly formerly developed her expertise with Grenoble-Isère Economic Development Agency in France. Prospecting investors for 10 years made her travel all around the globe, especially in Asia and Europe, to promote Grenoble’s ecosystem, known as one of the world’s most innovative regions. She also contributed to the successful implementation of renewable energy firms such as Solarworld (German leader of photovoltaic panels’ production) and CG Sales group (design and conception of smart electric meters).
While promoting regional sustainable construction skills in Québec, Fabienne Joly discovered Lac-Mégantic. During a business mission held in September 2013, producers and professionals initiated the Colibri project. Moved by the concept and by the people involved in this project, Fabienne chose to join the team of the Reconstruction Office. She since is tasked to the deployment of the energy transition vision of Lac-Mégantic, leading the microgrid and the smart city projects.
Driven by her 12 years of experience in territorial marketing and investors’ research, for a region occupied by more than one million inhabitants, Fabienne is building her professional project with the mindset of sustainable and human development. ″Economic development only makes sense if marked through time, ensuring consistency with an overall territorial perspective, supported by the city council, on energy, community, knowledge, and transport matters. Environmental and social responsibility is everyone’s concern. In a place granted with exceptional natural environment, this is such a great challenge to be part of this human scale convergence.″
