Alex is a management consultant with 15 years of extensive experience in the utility industry, gained thorugh his tenure at a large global management-consulting firm, and as Managing Director of his own utility consulting company, Elletrica. Consulting for various utility clients around North America, Alex has deep expertise in the electric utilites business as a whole and has focused on the real operational and financial benefits associated with deploying new technology to the electric utility. Alex is currently engaged in Canada’s leading smart grid project and has responsibility for the strategy and implementation of Hydro One’s smart grid program. He drafted and gained executive and regulatory support for a billion-dollar 25-year smart grid business case. He successfully led the three successful smart grid rate cases with regulators and confirmed more than $400M in funding over ten years. Considered a thought-leader in the industry, Alex was asked by the Canadian industry to be the Managing Director of the smart grid industry association due to his skills and experience. Known for his energy and drive, Alex has a B.S in Economics from the University of British Columbia and lives in Toronto, ON with his wife and young girls.
